Scott and Louise Duscher
1-800-SWEEPER is pleased to announce the addition of our newest partners, Scott and Louise Duscher of Agua Trucks, Inc. Scott has worked in residential construction in the Phoenix area since 1999 and started Agua Trucks in 2006 when he saw an opportunity to purchase a water truck and rent the equipment to his employer. Water trucks are great for dust control in the Arizona desert, but even this dry part of the country has a rainy season. Track out from construction sites is also a huge problem in the Phoenix area, so Scott and Louise decided to purchase a broom sweeper and use his existing contacts in the construction business to develop the construction side of his business. During our conversation, Scott was quick to point out that he and his wife are equal partners in all aspects of the business too. Louise knows how to operate every piece of equipment the company owns.
According to Duschers, the idea of getting into the parking lot sweeping business was prompted by a conversation with a customer during the final stages of a construction sweeping and clean-up project. As the project was winding down, the site maintenance engineer asked if their company could maintain the newly constructed parking lot on a permanent basis. This request landed Agua Trucks a parking lot with just over 1,400 spaces, including a 4-story parking garage. Since this time, Agua Trucks has provided both construction sweeping and parking lot sweeping for facilities with 12 to 4,000 parking spaces. Since this time, Scott has joined the Board of NAPSA and his company still maintains the lot that got him into the parking lot sweeping business.
Since Agua Trucks is a relatively new business, the Duschers are constantly searching for new ideas to grow their business. Scott and Louise spotted the 1-800-SWEEPER trailer several years back when gathered in Memphis for NPE, and they decided to investigate. It was here that Scott and Louise learned about the core of 1-800-SWEEPER’s value proposition. A collective buying group, co-op marketing efforts, and a safe space to learn from some of the legends in the sweeping business were all ideas that could help the Duschers grow their business, so when the fledgling company reached its critical mass, Scott and Louise made the decision to join us.
