Whenever a natural disaster strikes, like the hurricane that struck Charleston, SC last year, Partner Companies in 1-800-SWEEPER know that they will be called upon to help with the aftermath and cleanup. But what happens when the disaster itself – like the devastating flooding Louisiana is experiencing – destroys the equipment that will be needed to help clean the areas affected?
The Sweeper Swag Store is the exclusive place for you to purchase all types of 1-800-SWEEPER branded products that can be co-branded with YOUR sweeping company logo. We have received numerous requests from Partner companies to “get some of that cool swag” worn and carried by folks from 1-800-SWEEPER HQ.
Now, available in a link from our website, we have put together a portal where it is super simple and economical to purchase embroidered or screen-printed clothing, mugs, and more!
From stainless steel tumblers to can koozies, men’s and women’s fleece jackets to professional button-down shirts, to sweatshirts and tee-shirts, the Sweeper Swag store has a ton of selections.
Coming to StormCon in Indianapolis? We would love to meet up! August 22-25, 2016 our personnel will be in Booth #310 providing industry-wide exposure for 1-800-SWEEPER and demonstrating how regular parking lot and road sweeping helps the environment and keeps our waters clean. StormCon’s focus lines up with the 1-800-SWEEPER message of water quality and stormwater management.
Because of the environmental focus – we will run the instructional “Dead Fish” video in the booth during exhibit hours and hope to interact with both construction-focused and municipal/state waste and stormwater management attendees during the course of the show. If you are attending, watch for the 1-800-SWEEPER mobile billboard which will likely be in rotation around the convention center. To get more information about StormCon and the programs / exhibits associated with the conference you can download the flyer here.

If you have not yet ben at a regional meeting this spring or summer, mark your calendar. Join fellow 1-800-SWEEPER partners, staff and vendors August 11, 2016 in Virginia Beach, VA or September 14, 2016 at a meeting hosted by Schwarze Industries in Huntsville, AL. One of the most requested items at Sweeper Summit was additional opportunities to interact with other sweeping company owners and managers who are partners in our organization.
So far in 2016 we have held well-attended Regional Meetings in Columbus, OH, Elgin, IL, Bridgeport, CT, Charlotte, NC and Las Vegas, NV. The events have typically run from ~8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with breakfast and lunch served. Complete agenda details and specific information for each meeting are sent two weeks prior to each meeting date.
In addition to an opportunity to share best practices, participants at the individual meetings have had the opportunity to get hands-on access to training and new materials related to some of our most recent Vendor additions like Fleetio, ApplicantPro, StormWater One, , and United Rotary Brush. If you haven’t already attended, we encourage your participation at one of the remaining regional roundups leading up to Sweeper Summit 2016!
It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Marc Chimento, the owner of Hy-Tech Property Services in Virginia. Marc lost his battle with brain cancer on May 30th. He is survived by his wife, Michelle and young son Brogan and mother, Shirley Apperson. Marc and Michelle have been a part of the 1-800-SWEEPER organization from inception as well as being an integral part of the Richmond, VA market.
In addition to running his sweeping business, which Marc started in 1985 with his mother – he also owned Ameila Motor Raceway. Marc cared deeply for his family, friends, employees and customers. He was a big man, in his presence and in his compassion and charity. We will miss him and will honor him through the continued success of his business and his charitable nature. Among other charitable endeavors, Marc founded and supported the Christmas Train, a charitable organization that collects and assembles hundreds of bikes for the Amelia County Christmas each year, local police, fire and rescue departments as well as the Susan G. Koman for the Cure and St. Jude’s Hospital.
As his obituary noted: “Marc, at his core, had an extraordinary spirit of giving that touched countless people on a daily basis including approximately 200 valued employees and their families.” A video tribute to Marc can be viewed online: https://youtu.be/uQ4mbMRu95o
1-800-SWEEPER made a donation to the Cullather Brain Tumor Center in his memory as well as sent Michelle a memory stone for their office landscape. Please keep Marc’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
